Logan City Council have created a vibrant cultural heritage and performing arts hub at this iconic site in Kingston.
The Kingston Butter Factory Cultural Precinct hosts indoor and outdoor performances and events, night markets, farmers’ markets, and major festivals. It is a place where the City of Logan’s rich cultural heritage and diversity is celebrated.
The precinct features the Living Museum of Logan and the Butterbox Theatre within the Kingston Butter Factory building, as well as the city’s largest outdoor events space, the Logan City Historical Museum and Devon Pixies Tea House.
We had a large party of 13 booked in for high tea. Oh my goodness the room was so wonderfully decorated with all the beautiful china and layed out elegant tables, it is whimsical and quirky( My favorite kind of place to be)you can dress up in a pretty hat. What a fabulous time we had. The food was dainty and tasty, the sweets were colourful and yummy. I highly recommend you take your bestie, mum or work group ladies to high tea you will enjoy this experience. Also the staff are happy and friendly taking care of all the details.
Lovely little spot to visit! The building is clean, well maintained, and the staff were really friendly and welcoming. Great to see a piece of local history being preserved so nicely. Would be nice to see a few more art displays or interactive installations in the future, but overall it’s definitely worth a visit. And best of all, it’s free!
What a great venue! We came to see Khaled Republic, and he was awesome. The theatre space was really comfortable. The history of the locals on the walls was so interesting too.
Came to take my niece to the kids activities. That was fine and good. However I was not asked permission for my niece to be photographed. The lady assumed that I was with these two Indian ladies and their kids. I was standing right there when she handed one mother the consent form. She took photos of my niece and may have gotten me and my baby in the pictures. Despite me asking my niece if she wanted her photos taken, she ignored me. I had walked over after she actually greeted me while I was looking at the talking portraits. She proceeded to ONLY ask the two other mothers about them going to the upcoming Kids Festival. I told admin about how I was ignored and did not give permission for her to take photos. She came downstairs and all of a sudden could talk to me. She said she deleted the photos, but I did not want to talk to her as she already overlooked me. She even admitted to assuming we were all together. Not sure why she would do that, that was lazy and pressumptious on her behalf. This is my first impression of visiting the Kingston Butter Factory as well. For events I will probably attend but will not go inside for activities again. Very disappointing as I had a great experience at the Cafe and the museum.
They have various events on here all during the year. Travel: Road, there is parking, although it is limited. Bus parking onsite Rail: The train station is right next door. There is a ticket required & check your timetable for availability. Bus: Bus stop at the train station Bike: Ride your pushy & chain it up inside the cultural area. There is an abundance of rubbish bins, general rubbish & recycling. Some chairs and tables are available. During events, you're encouraged to sit on the lawn area. Just bring your own chairs or a rug / blanket. To note, they do have onsite phone recharge stations. Will look more into that next time I visit. There is an onsite Cafe, however they haven't been open for the past few weeks, best to check their fb page.
