I went in to buy woollen socks and the lady serving was so lovely and patient. Explaining to me the difference in the various kinds of socks .. comfort socks, outdoor socks etc. Even when I realised I had made a mistake in the sizes after I purchased 2 pairs, she made the exchange painless. I'll be going back tomorrow to buy a third pair.
I believe there must be more than one attendant as the kind, polite, and helpful attendant cannot be the one we talked to today. A group of four friends and I entered the store just before 4 and double checked we would have enough time to browse without causing an issue. The attendant told us to close the door not even a full five seconds after we entered the store and commented that it was freezing as if that was our fault. We spent approximately 2 minutes browsing and audibly commenting on the nice products and good quality. One of the girls in my group looked at a sweater for men and she said "No you are not touching those. I don't want to re-fold them all and they're MENS sweaters. They're for men." While I understand the frustration of refolding items of clothing when customers leave them in disarray she hadn't even fully lifted the item and wasn't going to leave it a mess. Alongside this, her tone implied that because she was a girl, that she was suddenly not allowed to look at any men's items. I'd wonder if this woman has ever heard of gifts but by her demeanor I'd guess she's not exactly the gracious or giving type.
Zero star experience. Incredibly rude staff!! This is my first negative review as I don’t like to impact people’s businesses, but it was a terrible experience. My family and I opened the door to come into this store which we were excited to go into to buy alpaca wool products. The attendant / owner, very rudely told us to close the door behind us as they were about to close and it was cold. She went on about how she’s been trying to warm it up all day. It felt like she was blaming us being there for literally 10 seconds, for her whole day’s frustration. We hadn’t even stepped into the store for one minute and were immediately treated badly. When my mother told the staff member that her tone was unnecessary and had she just said it politely we would’ve happily complied and felt welcomed, she raised her voice and refused to hear anything. I had to step in as I didn’t like how she spoke to and treated my mother. She told me that she was just telling us to close the door, and I explained as calmly as possible while being triggered by her behaviour that it wasn’t what she had said, it was the way she said it. My MIL and mother were very interested in a coat that I’m sure was a few hundred dollars, but we were all immediately turned off by her tone and left the store. When I told the staff that we were interested in buying her products and she lost potential customers bc of her poor attitude, she said she didn’t and slammed the door in my face. I truly hate writing this review and I’m never rude to service staff as I spent most of my life working in customer service and know what it’s like, but this was way too far. She made us all feel very small. My mother felt it was a racially charged tone and she also doesn’t say things like that easily. I hope the staff member really reflects on this experience and treats future customers a lot better than she treated me and my family. Leura is a wonderful small town and all the other store attendants we met this day were kind, helpful and welcoming! But I’d recommend avoiding this place.
not goated or alpacaed tbh . if you want to feel dismissed and belittled while shopping for a cute sweater - go ahead but she wont let you buy a men’s sweaters . didn’t know clothes were inherently gendered
I'm assuming the English woman I saw today is the lady that everyone is saying is lovely.Well I went there with a friend today to buy an Alpaca scarf. After about half an hour of her telling us about the scarves and myself asking questions about the scarves, myself and my friend decided we'd have lunch and then come back. I walked up to the lady to tell her and before I said a word she looked at me and said that she doesn't want me in the store because she was losing customers because I was asking too many questions. Apparently she doesn't know that every customer that walks through the door is classed as a potential sale. If there was another store in Leura that sold Alpaca scarves then I would have gone there. We reluctantly went back and bought a scarf. Whilst doing the transaction she was nice as pie and acted totally unawares of the fact that she was rude 30 minutes earlier. No apology at all. Before leaving I told her that she should be nice to all customers irrespective of whether they make a purchase or not. She didn't seem to care. I then told her that I felt like posting a bad review on social media about my experience and her rude manner and hopefully this would deter people from doing business there in the future. This didn't seem to phase her either as she smuggly said 'No it won't'. This is the owner of the shop - Ha. Well hopefully Alpaca has a head office which will be where a copy of this review will also be going. I'm sure this lady believes she can treat anyone how she wants and that the buck stops with her.
