Mackenzie Creek Homestead

Mackenzie Creek Homestead is a heritage farm stay and exclusive creekside campsite on a 110-acre working family property in the Moreton Bay hinterland. It is located 10 minutes from Dayboro Village, with its local cafés, art and country-town charm, and around 50 minutes from Brisbane.

The lovingly restored 1920s Queenslander accommodates up to six guests across three bedrooms, with elevated views over the picturesque Laceys Creek valley. Original timber floors, coloured glass windows, collectables and local historical memorabilia offer a glimpse into an earlier era, complemented by a country kitchen, wood-burning fireplace and wide veranda.

Life on the farm continues around the Homestead. Curious chickens and ducks roam the grounds, while cattle graze the surrounding hills and paddocks depending on seasonal conditions and stock rotation. Guests can explore farm tracks, enjoy the valley views and experience the slower rhythm of country life near the forests and walking trails of the D'Aguilar Range.

Down by the seasonal creek, the private campsite is reserved for one booking at a time. It includes a hot shower, composting toilet, power and space for families and friends. Dogs are welcome at the campsite only; pets are not permitted at the Homestead.

A small Fiano vineyard planted in 2021 is gradually becoming part of the farm's story, although it is not currently a cellar door or tasting venue.
