Located with the accredited Mareeba Visitor Information Centre, the Mareeba Heritage Museum is a great place to stop to find out more about the beautiful region, chin wag with the Volunteers, grab a coffee and visit the must-see Historical Museum.
The museum features nationally recognised exhibits showcased in an outdoor setting with thoughtfully created collections. There is an emphasis on Early Living and Multiculturalism, with Australia's largest Tobacco Industry exhibit and an eclectic collection of historical pieces from the Mareeba district.
School and after-school groups are also catered for with special packages available that include hands-on participation. There are also function areas that can be hired for various corporate and group needs.

Loved this place. Think it was better than the Hall of Fame. Packed with lots of memorabilia. It was inclusive and you could feel the old time vibe.
So well done! Very helpful and knowledgeable volunteers. Great parklands next door and info centre out front.
We found the Museum to be a delightful surprise. The entry tickets were inexpensive. There is a nice gift store at the entry. Once you walk through the grounds, there is alot to discover. It was very interesting, the exhibits and displays were special, so authentic. Like goibg back in time, and learning all the stories about the early settlers and migrants who came to the area. How tough the conditions were, how they lived, farmed, built communities, supported the war effort and so on. Just wonderful. The cafe serves a very tasty lunch. I recommend it.
A brilliantly curated museum. Staff are friendly and knowledgable. The cafe has a wonderful range of food and drinks and the information centre is filled with an impressive range of gifts and memorabilia. Should not be missed.
A beautiful museum and cafe ,very friendly staff. Also to add the tobacco museum section was very interesting! Must visit if your driving through
