The Mamu Rainforest Canopy Walkway is a spectacular walk through the canopy of World Heritage rainforest. It is an iconic tourist attraction in the heart of the Wet Tropics. With a 350 metre long elevated walkway through the canopy, a cantilever, a 37 metre observation tower and more than 1200 metres of walking tracks, this attraction is a must do for anyone visiting the region.
The cantilever provides tantalising views over the North Johnstone river gorge. The 37 metre observation tower emerges high above the canopy, offering sweeping views over a pristine rainforest-clad mountainous landscape, homeland of the Mamu Aboriginal people.
Located within Wooroonooran National Park, the attraction was built in natural clearings in the rainforest caused by cyclone Larry in March 2006 and constructed from durable unpainted galvanised steel and recycled plastic. It is located close to other National Park walking tracks and picnic areas, making a day visit to the area, armed with a picnic hamper and walking shoes, a must-do experience!

Great stop for bird watching! We visited in the middle of the day, which normally isn't a good time for bird activity, but it was bustling with life! Definitely recommend the elevated walkway to get good looks at birds high up in the canopy. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Cool drinks and ice cream available at the ticket counter. Well worth a stop!
Mamu Tropical Skywalk offered a great walk through the rainforest, and we were welcomed by a very nice lady at the reception. The experience was truly special as we managed to see cassowaries during our visit. The highlight was definitely the tower; the view from the top was breathtaking.
Nice experience. Pretty views. Felt like it could have been cheaper with just access to the skywalk platform itself. Friendly and helpful staff.
What a fantastic place! Staff extremely helpful, audio excellent as is the booklet and signage. The walk spectacular and easy to manage. And we saw a cassowary!
A great experience. About 2km gentle walk, either along an elevated boardwalk, cantilevered platform, or the forest walk. There’s 37m tower at the end to climb if you wish. Great views but choose a sunny day - it rained all day when we went so the views where a bit misty. Takes about 90 mins or longer if you have a real interest in reading all the educational signs.
