What a beautiful accomodation option for the area. The room had everything we needed, the shared space was luxurious, clean and spacious. The options of being to cook in the chefs kitchen or get take away was great (have everything you need from the nearby town as it is a bit of a drive onto the mountain) We especially loved the abundance of games, puzzles and books to choose from. Thanks to the owners to a memorable stay.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Maiala Park Lodge. Beautiful room. Comfortable shared living space and kitchen. Lucy, Joe and other staff were friendly and helpful. Only issue we had was we couldn't workout how to light the gas cooktop.
I've only been back two days and I already want to go back. The rooms were stunning and the beds so comfortable. The owners are amazing and so lovely and helpful. We had breakfast there as well and it was delicious. Highly recommend staying there.
Stayed for 3 nights. All instructions and specifications were provided before arrival. The Lodge was easy to find through Google Maps and the signage from the road. Upon arrival, we were shown where to park and enter our room by the host. The Cockatoo Suite is very well priced and is positioned in a beautiful location overlooking the wildlife, the hills, and the distant cityscape. The room itself is spacious. It is clean and private. The curtains block out all light during the night and most during the day. The bed appears to be two king single beds combined, though you could not notice that, due to the well put together bedding . Our bed was clean, comfortable, and a great assortment of pillows. There is dedicated parking for the suite, and excess parking, outside the rooms. There is a small kitchenette area connected to the bedroom that includes a fridge, a pod coffee machine, and a kettle, along with tea bags, saucers, cups and other auxiliaries. The fridge includes an ice pack and a bottle of cold water. Connected to the kitchenette is a wardrobe, with an extra blanket, a couple pillows, and a few hangers. Connected to the bedroom, bordering the kitchenette, is the bathroom. This includes a sink, a toilet, and a bathtub-shower. The bathtub is well sized for two people, the sink is large, and the countertop is spacious and the mirror is also large (though anyone 5 feet tall and under would have trouble using it). The toilet is normal, and clean. There are 3 sets of windows, 2 in the bedroom and 1 above the toilet. They can open if needed, but we kept them closed due to the cold. The TV is quite small, and although it was sufficient for us to use, it was a bit small for us to watch from the bed. We brought our own Laptop and Wireless speaker, due to the TV speaker being quite hard to hear. There's a TV Remote that has the option to access Netflix and other streaming services on the TV. The bedside tables have beautiful lamps, clocks and very convenient wireless chargers on each tabletop. They include 2 shelves and 1 drawer for easy storing. The view out the windows and the doors were beautiful. I don't think we saw a single bad view our whole time. Our first few days were wet and the clouds surrounding the Lodge gave it an ethereal feeling. When the weather had subsided, the view was bright green and beautiful; hills, trees, and all. The dinner options were very satisfactory, and they were able to accommodate our specific dietary requirements (gluten free). The dinner was very delicious and the dessert likewise. The price was good for the location, availability and taste. We were not obligated to order dinner if we didn't wish to, and the hosts encouraged us to bring our own food before arriving, due to a lack of grocers and stores on the mountain. The shared dining area in the main house is also beautiful. There is a fireplace that emits warmth through the lounge area connected to the kitchen. There are many books and board games, as well as a hot water bottle and blanket you can curl up with and watch over the city lights at dusk. Our stay has been absolutely fantastic and we will definitely be coming again!
My husband and I had a lovely time visiting Maiala for his birthday. The room was lovely and we were very comfortable. Maiala is a nice easy drive from Brisbane so makes for a nice weekend getaway if you want a break from the city. One of the staff Lucy was very kind and welcomed us with some delicious cookies. We definitely plan to return.
