The Sisters Suite
Located on the first floor, the Sisters' Suite was once four separate nun's rooms, now thoughtfully combined to create a stunning luxury retreat. The suite features a sumptuous king-sized bed, a private ensuite, and a charming east-facing veranda, all beneath the original pressed metal ceilings that celebrate the Abbey's historic character. The Empress Suite
Step into our most spacious and enchanting room, a 100 sqm sanctuary with soaring 4.2 metre pressed metal ceilings, a private entry, and a secluded veranda—your perfect escape from the main house. Designed for honeymoons, engagements, anniversaries, or any unforgettable occasion, the room features a sumptuous king-sized bed, a charming claw-foot bath positioned to enjoy the glow of the electric fireplace and your favourite shows, and a private veranda overlooking the tranquil gardens—ideal for quiet moments together.
The East Wing Suite
Located upstairs on the first floor, the East Wing Suite is a luxurious retreat full of historic charm, perfect for couples seeking old-world romance. The suite features a four-poster king-sized bed, original cast-iron bathtub, private veranda, writing desk, lounge area, dressing table, and wardrobe. This unique and grand room showcases high vaulted ceilings, sparkling chandeliers, and magnificent original stained-glass windows, bringing the Abbey's rich history vividly to life.
Room 1 and 2 Victorian (separate bathroom down the hallway)
Located on the first floor, the Victorian Rooms combine two original nun's rooms to create a beautifully appointed retreat with a separate sitting area. Each room features a king-sized bed and a spacious private bathroom just across the hall, complete with a separate shower and bath. Each bathroom is exclusively for the designated room, ensuring complete privacy. Elegant and inviting, the Victorian Rooms offer a tranquil retreat that blends historic charm with today's comfort.
Classic Room 5 (Separate bathroom down the hallway)
Located upstairs on the first floor, this unique room was originally the Abbey's infirmary and retains a sense of historic charm. The room features a queen-sized four-poster bed and opens directly onto a shared veranda, offering a lovely space to relax and enjoy the surroundings. A private bathroom is located just down the hall, reserved exclusively for guests staying in this room.
Classic Room 4 (separate private bathroom)
Step back in time in the former Mother Superior's Room, dating back to 1891 when the Abbey was a convent. Located upstairs on the first floor, this historic room is now thoughtfully furnished with a king-sized bed for modern comfort. Guests have access to a private bathroom conveniently located just down the hall.
Mercy Room
Located on the first floor, the Mercy Rooms have been thoughtfully renovated to combine timeless charm with modern comfort. Located on the first floor, the Catherine McAuley Room is named in honour of Catherine McAuley, founder of the Sisters of Mercy order whose legacy forms part of The Abbey's rich history. Blending heritage charm with modern comfort, the room features a king-sized bed, private ensuite, and a charming Juliet-style balcony — the perfect spot to enjoy the fresh country air and unwind during a peaceful weekend escape. Inside, guests will find two comfortable armchairs, air-conditioning, kettle for tea and coffee and a mini bar fridge.
