On a True North expedition, you'll embark on an adventure that only a few people in the world get to experience.
True North and True North II are purpose-built to go where big ships cannot, while exploring even further in dedicated adventure boats.
Most itineraries also feature an onboard helicopter, so you can visit locations almost inaccessible to most. In-between locations, you'll relish in the luxury of our beautifully designed boat. Not to mention onboard chefs, who craft a bespoke menu inspired by your location and daily catch.
You'll be able to pack your days full of scenic tours, fishing, mud crabbing, waterfall walks, picnics, natural history appreciation, rock art exploration and helicopter excursions.
To make sure your experience is uniquely catered to you, itineraries are limited to small groups (36 guests aboard True North and just 22 guests aboard True North II) with an Australian crew on board every expedition (22 crew on True North and 15 crew on True North II).
For more than 35 years we have immersed our guests in stunning landscapes, coral wonderlands, unique cultural opportunities, and extraordinary encounters with nature. When you join them onboard, you'll soon start to discover why life's different after True North.

My daughter and I recently went on the True North Waterfalls cruise through the Kimberly. I cannot put into words how incredible the experience was. The crew were all sensational, the boat beautiful, the food absolutely delicious and the sights were breathtaking.
Our third adventure on the True North, this time the Coast & Coral was as expected, wonderful. The experience was amazing, from the Kimberley Coast to the Rowley Shoals. The whole crew focused on all the passengers having a great time, sight seeing, helicopter tours and picnics, fishing, snorkeling, swimming in amazing safe waterholes and more. The on board crew ensured our dining was first class, our accommodation always clean and comfortable and so enjoyable. The naturalists educated us about indigenous history, marine life and plant life. Cannot wait for our next adventure with True North
Title: A 10-Day Blur of Barefoot Luxury and Big Fish on True North II My wife and I recently returned from a Kimberley cruise aboard the True North II. To say it was unforgettable is a massive understatement! The ship's mantra is "barefoot luxury," keeping guests involved in intense, personalized activities. It blew our expectations completely out of the water. From Strangers to Shipmates We only knew one other couple on board, but by the end, guests and crew bonded so completely that we had an absolute ball hiking, BBQing, and partying together. So many hilarious things happened! Michael from the Sydney crew celebrated his 60th birthday on Day One... and every single day after. N.W. was politely told he was a touch too heavy for the Cable Beach camels, but fit easily on the ship. Then there was the daily weird hat presentation—my favorite was Jodie from Ballarat, who accidentally activated her lifejacket while boarding a completely safe, non-sinking tender boat! 5-Star Dining & Revelry The dining was top-class gourmet fine dining. Our five-star chef and his Italian junior chef served exceptional, unique creations daily. But this crew knows how to let their hair down; picture our classy head chef dressed in a colorful wig and budgie smugglers, leading the crew singing YMCA. Everyone was singing and dancing—we definitely woke up the Kimberley! Helicopters, Tenders, and Comedy Horror The itinerary was magnificent. The onboard helicopter whisked us to remote areas like Raft Point and King George Falls for cliff-top picnics and stargazing. On the water, we used the adventure tenders to fish for Barramundi and Snapper. Everyone landed a massive fish, but special mention goes to Will. He caught his first-ever fish—a monster Giant Trevally (GT)—on a line with no bait! The huge smile on his face turned to absolute comedic horror when Joel seamlessly tossed the fish back overboard while Will was still posing for the photo. It was absolutely hilarious. Moments to Remember During "Raft Night," the crew tied the tenders together for sunset drinks and treated us to some incredible singing. We also loved the pure magic of a sunset bonfire on a secluded beach. An Unbeatable Crew The people make the experience. Our crew was young, knowledgeable, and always smiling. Quinn was phenomenal, organizing everything from helicopter rides to crabbing—she must have felt like she was herding stray cats everyday! (Sadly, she barracks for Freo). Special shout-out to Freya, who did my laundry each night; it magically appeared perfectly pressed on my bed before breakfast. I wanted to pack her in my suitcase! From the naturalists to our resident pearl-diver (even if he played footy for Peel Thunder), the entire team was exceptional. Thank you to the location, guests, and phenomenal crew. I have only one final question to ask, and I trust it will resonate with everyone on board: "Am I ever gonna see your face again?"
We cruised True North 2 over 900 NM through the Kimberly. Immaculate ship, fabulous crew, delicious food and drinks, world class fishing with expert crew, and the most beautiful scenery and wildlife that can only been experienced from the sea. The crew excelled at creating individual experiences at every opportunity. They clearly love working for TN. We were extremely grateful for the opportunity to sail with Skipper Mick and his team.
The Ultimate Kimberley Experience – A Trip of a Lifetime! I’ve been fortunate to travel extensively, but my recent journey on the True North Ultimate Kimberley Cruise stands out as one of the best trips I’ve ever taken. This was more than a cruise — it was a true adventure made unforgettable by the exceptional crew, world-class hospitality, and unique access to one of Australia’s most spectacular regions. From the moment we stepped onboard, we were looked after by a crew who were not only professional but deeply passionate about what they do. Captain Jayden and Cruise Director Tess led with warmth, expertise, and a sense of fun that set the tone for an incredible voyage. Every member of the team went above and beyond to ensure we made the most of every moment. The onboard experience was outstanding — comfortable, welcoming, and filled with thoughtful touches. The culinary offerings by Chefs Hannah and Jasper were a highlight in themselves. Each meal was beautifully crafted, featuring fresh ingredients and creative menus that rivalled fine dining — all served in some of the most remote and breathtaking locations in the world. A major highlight was the access to fishing experiences that simply aren’t possible on larger cruise ships. Whether it was chasing barramundi or casting a line in remote creeks, the thrill of catching (and sometimes releasing) fish in such pristine wilderness added another exciting layer to the journey. The daily excursions and surprises kept us constantly amazed. Often there was more than one surprise a day — whether it was a waterfall swim, a beach picnic, an Indigenous rock art site, or spotting wildlife we hadn’t expected to see. The crew’s ability to pivot and deliver these spontaneous, perfectly executed moments really impressed me and my fellow guests. And then there’s the helicopter. With Pilot Tom, we experienced the Kimberley from the air in a way that’s impossible to describe. The heli trips were breathtaking, giving us access to remote gorges, waterfalls, and wilderness that few ever get to see. My heli-camping experience was the absolute pinnacle — spending a night under the stars in complete serenity was something I’ll never forget. This was more than a holiday — it was a truly transformative experience. If you're looking to explore the Kimberley in depth, with comfort, authenticity, and adventure, True North is in a league of its own. Highly recommended and already dreaming of the next voyage!
