What an incredible dining experience! The food was absolutely outstanding — every mouthful was an experience in itself, full of flavour and beautifully presented. It is clear that a lot of passion and care goes into every dish. The staff were exceptional and truly made the visit memorable. They were warm, attentive, and went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. A special shout-out to Sydney and Rhea, who provided outstanding service and made us feel genuinely welcomed throughout the evening. The atmosphere was cozy, inviting, and delightful, creating the perfect setting to relax and enjoy a fantastic meal. From the food to the service and ambience, everything exceeded our expectations. Highly recommended and we will definitely be returning the next time we're in Stanthorpe.
We were blown away by Varias! Every dish was beautifully plated and the service was spectacular. The braised beef cheek was perfectly tender, and the ‘Lamb Harmony’ main was delicious, literally cooked to perfection without any of that typical gamey smell. Even the side salad was a standout! I’m not usually a dessert person, but the ‘Strawberry Bliss’ 🍓was so good I actually ordered it twice. A must-visit in Stanthorpe.
We recently celebrated a 50th birthday at Varia’s with a group of 10, and it was the perfect venue for a special occasion. The service was impeccable from start to finish, and the team made us feel so well looked after. The roaring fire created a lovely atmosphere, the setting felt private and intimate, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. The wines were excellent, and the whole evening was relaxed, memorable and beautifully organised. I highly recommend Varia’s if you’re looking for somewhere special to celebrate with family or friends.
Nice dinner here, we loved the plate to share dish on top of our 2 courses last night. Definitely recommend the Verdelho here, also the wild Chardonnay and the Shiraz (a lighter style shiraz). Enjoy 😊
My partner and I have just had what is, quite frankly, the worst value and most disappointing meal we have ever consumed. We have previously dined at Varias in April 2024 and had a lovely meal and experience. We decided to both go with the “Chef’s Medley of Mains” as we had previously very much enjoyed the same named meal. Priced at $69 plus $10 for the wine pairing we were very much expecting a decently portioned meal. Whilst the flavours were fine, however, what we were served could only be described as, being generous, half sized starters. The dishes which were a small slice of fried artichoke and salad, a fairly simple play on a prawn cocktail, and a single small skewer of barbecue pork; were dishes that at a reasonable restaurant would rightly find themselves on the snacks/ small bites section of the menu, albeit only if the portion size was increased. To add insult to injury we looked back at the previous trip we had to Varias where we also dined on the “Chef’s Medley of Mains”, the price was $60 and included far more generous and inventive portions of “Mains”, a dessert, and the (now upcharged) wine pairing. After bringing our displeasure up to the staff on multiple occasions, we were offered a 20% discount but at still $52 for what was served seemed far too steep a price Never before have I left a restaurant still feeling like I needed to eat and we found ourselves at a local bakery to have a sausage roll for lunch, after our “lunch”. Gained a star because the wine was decent, the atmosphere was generally nice, and the waitstaff attentive and pleasant
