Floating Sauna, Lake Burley Griffin

This place is so fantastic. I have been here a few times now. It is really nice to go when the sun is setting. It is rustic (that is the whole point, including given the location) but very clean, so definitely discount the reviews complaining that the place is not luxurious enough! Jayden was my last sauna attendant and he was so friendly and helpful. I will be back soon!

I was a little skeptical about the lake, but it exceeded my expectations! A beautiful, protected spot overlooking the rolling hills and lake. The sauna was large enough for the people booking, and smelt very clean. Big windows overlook the lake, and the whole experience was well worth it. Have already booked my next session!

I had a great experience at the Floating Sauna on Lake Burley Griffin. It’s a really unique setup — two wood-fired saunas floating right on the lake, with large windows overlooking the water, which makes the whole experience feel calm and immersive.  The sauna itself is properly hot (in a good way), and the contrast between the heat and the cold plunge or shower is genuinely refreshing. It’s one of those experiences where you leave feeling both relaxed and re-energised at the same time.  What stood out most was the atmosphere — it’s quiet, well-organised, and feels like a bit of an escape from everything, even though you’re right in Canberra. The facilities are thoughtfully set up, with change rooms and showers on the floating pontoon, which makes the whole process easy and comfortable.  If you’re open to the hot–cold experience, it’s absolutely worth trying. A really different and surprisingly peaceful way to unwind

Nice sauna experience, fun dipping in the lake for a cold plunge. BYO towel! No toilet facilities on site but change rooms available.
