Photo Access is a unique space for making, sharing and discovering creative photography and photo-based art. It's a place where locals, interstate and overseas visitors gather to explore how contemporary image-making shapes the world.
Located at the Manuka Arts Centre, Photo Access presents a dynamic program of exhibitions featuring emerging and established Australian photographers and photo-artists, together with accessible talks, events and performances.
Photo Access also offers photography courses and workshops, ranging from a few hours to several weeks and from introductory camera skills to conceptual photo-media. This incorporated non-profit community association offers the Canberra region's only publicly accessible darkroom, a digital lab and leafy garden and attractive indoor venues for events and functions.
Excellent resources for the photo minded, with great equipment and advice for developing photos, digital conversion and general support for all photo related paraphernalia. Great to see support for the photo and film industry in general, ably and generously backed by private companies as well.

I recently did the Introduction to Black & White Darkroom Workshop, and highly recommend it to anyone considering it. I was able to learn all the skills needed to do this myself. The instructor, Eunie, was great, we got all the materials we needed, and the price was really good. Great learning in a small group too. Would do it again without hesitation.
