About

Craft Victoria is a leading centre for contemporary craft and design, located in Melbourne's Central Business District.

Craft Victoria brings together the makers, collectors, collaborators and communities at the centre of contemporary craft and design in Australia. From the first steps of a practice to a lifetime of making, from a single object to a major public artwork, this is where the full breadth of the discipline finds its home. You can discover one-of-a-kind collectable pieces handmade by Australian artists. The Craft Shop presents work by hundreds of Australian makers and designers working across diverse mediums, including ceramics, jewellery, textiles, glass, metal and more.

For more than fifty years, it has been the place where making is taken seriously. A living, evolving discipline with as much to say about the present as it does the past, where material is more than medium, it is language, and where process sits at the core of the work. Craft's exhibition program presents the work of artists whose practice spans the boundaries of contemporary art and hand-crafted material practice. Balanced to reflect a range of materials, art forms, innovative techniques and cultural diversity, their exhibitions offer a unique cultural experience for all visitors and art and design enthusiasts.
