Courtyard by Marriott Darwin

Every time we come to Darwin, we always stay here. Is in a great location, if you need anything that we forgot, we can go to the store just a few blocks from the hotel. Rooms were clean, spacious and with a fresh decor. Beds are comfortable, bathroom is nice with a great shower. Very quiet around, I was able to sleep good. We had breakfast and it was nice and hot, with plenty of things to choose from. I really enjoyed it!

I recently stayed at Courtyard by Marriott Darwin for 7 nights and the experience was great! At first, I was assigned to one of the older un-renovated rooms and was not feeling great about the stay, but after the checking with reception, they were able to move me to one of the renovated rooms on the 9th floor, which was modern, clean and had a great view. The room was well appointed with a convenient layout, large modern TV and comfy bed. The bathroom is a well designed, with basic amenities. The pool is small, but well maintained, with plenty of deck chairs and the gym is small, but has enough equipment to do a basic workout. The location is very convenient, with a Woolies and plenty of eating options close by. The staff at the hotel were exceptional, always friendly and responsive. The only areas for potential improvement are the noisy aircon system above the bed and the breakfast, which is fine, but the same every day, which can get a bit repetitive for a longer stay.

When we left our bags in the locked luggage room at courtyard by Marriott in Darwin someone entered the room and stole 1 bag and some of the contents of another. Total replacement value approx $5,500. We had contact with the front office manager who was very helpful but we have had no contact at all with the hotel manager or anyone else. We were advised they did an investigation but were never advised of the outcome of investigation or how they came up with their compensation offer. We have been offered $300 which is totally unacceptable after the police advised we should be compensated by the Marriott for their negligence. We warn all people stay clear of the Marriott as their security, policies and procedures is totally inadequate and we have spoken to a lawyer to further our complaint and get reasonable compensation compensation

I stayed here while on a business trip. Even though it is/was the off-season, the overall, the staff were very friendly and helpful throughout my stay. The on-site restaurant & bar is very nice, but some of it is under construction. The breakfast is fine but it was the exact same food every day. The gym was very nice. The room was spacious and clean, but unfortunately, the bed was uncomfortable for what I am used to at most Marriotts. So a good night’s sleep was difficult. Bring adaptors because there are no USB / USB-C charging ports. The hotel is attached to an apartment building. Parking is a little wonky to locate and the maneuver into the hotel lobby. But not a big deal. Overall, a comfortable stay with good services and facilities but not the best Courtyard by Marriott I've stayed in.
