As the symbolic home of Australia's iconic ute, Deni has done more than anywhere else to celebrate this wonder of automotive usefulness. Rightfully earning the title of "Ute Capital of the World" – and even have a public art sculpture to prove it!
Reutilise, by award-winning local artist Stuart Taylor, is a life-size Holden ute made from metal objects found on farms in the area around Deniliquin. It's a homage to utes everywhere, and a celebration of the ingenuity of farmers and regional people across Australia. The sculpture can be found near the Peppin Heritage Centre in George Street, Deniliquin.
The Reutilise sculpture is Stuart's largest piece of work and highlights his signature style of repurposed scrap metal.
Reutilise is part of The Long Paddock's iconic ARTback outdoor sculpture series, which are located across the touring route from Moama to Wilcannia.
Well set up venue for hosting various fare like activities as well as country music bands. Remember earplugs because key banging goes into the early hours and sleep was few and far between. We camped in the free section and well worth the stay. The bands were great and the options to add money to your wristband for food and drinks was a great way to minimise belongings. 30 can limit for campsite drinks was also more than suitable for a 2 day festival. Overall great festival!
Hard place to get into due to traffic so expect long delays. Can become very windy so offen see camping equipment tossed into the bin. Loud reving of ute's in ute paddocks into the night so maybe hard sleeping for most. Main stage singing and dancing to the toilets are a long walk away. My review above was the negative side but the positive side is fantastic from the food courts to clean showers toilets to kids rides to planes buzzing above to car displays so come next time to see what deniliquin ute muster is all about.
From humble beginnings to the major event that it is today, the Deni Ute Muster will not disappoint.I haven’t missed a year and plan on attending till I drop. There is something for everyone. It is an awesome family event. The ticket price gets you over 15 music acts , rodeo, circle work, camping , the most awesome atmosphere and heaps more. We love to camp at the site so we don’t miss any event . We have been so lucky to have seen some of the greatest acts from Cold Chisel to Alan Jackson at the muster. The day stage always has great music as well. Do yourself a favour and attend the Deni Ute muster for the best weekend of entertainment that you can have.
Certainly a must do. Great events during the day and music at night. Suggest sleeping away from the ute paddock if you want some sleep but definitely worth walking through the ute paddock and checking it out. Enjoy. Drinks well priced inside the venue but mid strength only. But you can walk back to your camp-site and drink there between events.
Best weekend ever at Deni Ute Muster. Been going since 2008 and it’s only gotten better . Can guarantee a fun filled weekend. Put it on the holiday list. Friendly staff who go above and beyond to make your weekend amazing.
