Palms City Resort

We stayed in a garden villa - it was lovely, clean and peaceful. Best position to stay in Darwin in my opinion. The pool was immaculate and the French girl running the bar was wonderful. Front desk staff - and cute little bird! - were friendly and helpful. It was my birthday during our stay and the staff organized a bottle of wine to be delivered to the pool deck. Such a nice surprise. I have already recommended Palm City to others and would not hesitate to do so again.

While a bit on the expensive side, the rooms are spacious and clean, staff is helpful and available, and the breakfast is pretty good. Good location relatively close to interesting stuff. Convenient to have washing machines available for guests. Can get a bit loud when the neighboring venue has a concert going.

Staying in the 3 single bed room. It's a bit small but good. They have bungalows. The pool is great with bar. Cannot fault the location on the esplanade as you can walk to most places. Pickles the parrot is a cutie at reception.

Palms City Resort is in a great location if you want to be close to the city centre. I found the reception staff friendly and helpful. I had a standard room and it was very small and had old furniture. The bathroom was also very small - I am not sure how a large person would go taking a shower and the basin was so small it was useless and sprayed water everywhere. You had to pay $20 to use a gym that they were affiliated with. Although there is no charge for parking, there are only a very limited number of parks and it is first in first served so it is very likely you will not get a park if you arrive a bit late. There are parking meters on the street front. I stayed at the Adina Waterfront during this same trip and the rooms and facilities were much much better for the same price. And they had a good gym.
