As part of the Alice Springs Youth Centre, the main hall (Higgins Theatre) is important for its historical and social associations with Mrs Agnes East MBE and Mrs Joan Higgins OAM, both of whom made a significant contribution to youth affairs and recreation in the Territory. The site has served as a sport and recreation venue for Alice Springs youth since the 1950s. Between 1960 and 1984 Higgins Theatre also served as the Town Hall and was the focal point for social events in Alice Springs.
Thank you Alice Springs Cinema. Guys work hard here. I followed the sign as I had pre purchased tickets and I purchased food, but when I came in again for the second time and followed the sign, I was told to go back and stand in line. I was just following the sign board. It was a bit embarrassing. Spoiled the mood before the movie. Anyhting I forgot??
Awesome service from Staff and very clean & inviting Atmosphere with alcohol available, making it almost like Gold Class Cinema experience. They make there own Choc Tops OMG & had a Martini for 007 Movie James Bond 😎❤
Watched Final Reckoning recently – the print and sound quality were excellent. The theatre had a calm and pleasant environment, though it wasn’t too crowded even on a Sunday. If you're planning to watch your favorite movie in town, this is a great place to do it. The cleanliness and hygiene standards are top-notch, and there's a good variety of snacks and drinks available. Highly recommend!
What a gem. I didn't know what to expect, but set my sights low... Not sure why. This is a great cinema! Don't expect IMAX or reclining seats with table service but, it's clean, neat, good quality sound and screen, comfortable seats with arm rests that can be folded back. Staff are super friendly and helpful. And.... Their chocktops are awesome! They make their own, mine had icecream all the way to bottom of the cone!
Alice Springs Cinema is the only mainstream offering in the area but fortunately it is a solid one. Cinema is always neat and tidy with the exception of the mandatory popcorn on the carpet. Staff are friendly and efficient. I would suggest buying a 10 pack of movie money tickets at $15 per ticket if you intend to frequent the cinema or join their movieclub which works out cheaper in the long run.
