SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium

There are so many exhibits with a wide variety of aquatic creatures, including sharks, stingrays, penguins and a huge range of fish. I was amazed to see such a wide variety of displays and creatures within such a compact area. It is pram and wheelchair accessible and makes for a nice day out for the family. There is also a very short boat ride inside the penguin enclosure which is free if you want to do it. It will take around 1-2 hours to cover everything at your own pace. We bought the 4 attraction pass for $65 which is great value compared to buying each ticket separately. The pass includes Madame Tussauds Sydney, WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo and access to the Sydney Tower Eye observation deck. All four attractions are close to each other and easy to cover in a single day. The price can vary depending on how close your visit date is and how busy they are, so it is best to buy tickets online in advance. I saw a lot of comments about the cost, but I believe all four attractions are meant to be seen together and the ticket price drops significantly compared to buying just one. Overall it is a nice place to visit in a very convenient location. It is a short walking distance from a wide variety of stations in the city. Definitely worth visiting, especially if you are in Sydney for the first time or want to spend some time exploring the city. Highly recommended!

SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium was one of the highlights of our Sydney trip. Having visited many aquariums around the world, we were genuinely impressed by the collection here. The diversity of marine life is outstanding, with many unique fish and sea creatures that we had never seen before. Every section seemed to have something new and fascinating to discover, making it enjoyable for both adults and children. One of the absolute highlights was the Penguin Expedition ride. Getting so close to the penguins was an incredible experience, and watching them from almost eye level made it feel very special. It was easily one of our family’s favourite moments. What we appreciated most was the strong focus on Australia’s marine ecosystems. Rather than being just another aquarium, SEA LIFE Sydney does a fantastic job showcasing the unique sea life found around Australia, making the experience both entertaining and educational. The only thing that could make the visit even better would be more convenient parking directly nearby, although we understand that’s probably difficult given the location in Darling Harbour. Overall, this is a world-class aquarium with an amazing collection of marine life, memorable exhibits, and experiences that are well worth the visit. Highly recommended for families and anyone with an interest in the ocean.

I did the Penguin Experience today and it was excellent! Sheila was the host and Jess was the keeper and they were both fantastic. Very friendly and informative. The penguins were the stars, of course, and it was incredible to be on the ice with them. Seeing the back of house areas was great too. I went through the rest of the aquarium twice and loved it! Turtle Beach, the grey nurse sharks, and Pig the dugong were my favourites. And the penguins of course!

A truly wonderful experience from start to finish! The aquarium is beautifully designed with so many different marine animals to see up close. The underwater tunnels are especially impressive, and it feels like you’re walking right through the ocean surrounded by sharks, rays, and colourful fish. Everything is well organised, clean, and easy to explore at your own pace. It’s also very educational and perfect for both adults and children. One small tip — try to avoid visiting on weekends 😁 It gets very crowded, and it’s much harder to enjoy everything peacefully. Weekdays are definitely the best time for a relaxed visit. Overall, an amazing attraction in Sydney and absolutely worth going at least once!
