We really enjoyed our visit to Bruny Island Honey. It’s a lovely little shop with a great selection of different honeys, and being able to sample the flavours before buying was a nice touch. Besides honey, they also sell a range of gifts, cards, souvenirs, and cute little toys, making it a great place to pick up something special to take home. A highlight for us was definitely the honey ice cream. It was smooth, creamy, and not overly sweet, with a lovely honey flavour. Highly recommended if you’re stopping by! Friendly service, great products, and a lovely atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit when you’re on Bruny Island.

A fantastic stop on Bruny Island! Great selection of honey products with plenty of free samples to try before you buy. The honey ice cream was absolutely delicious, and it was fascinating to watch the bees hard at work in the live hive display. The shopkeeper was also incredibly knowledgeable and happy to answer questions. Well worth a visit!
I do not consider myself to be a honey fanatic. Do I enjoy good honey? Yes. Perhaps I'm not particularly utilitarian when it comes to the stuff. It is a go to when I have a sore throat. It finds its way into certain recipes. I don't reach for it every day, but when you need it, you need it. That said, Bruny Island Honey is clearly a destination for people who take their honey seriously. Inside, you'll find a sampling station with about six to eight different varieties available to taste. Some are light and floral. Others lean darker with deeper, almost molasses-like notes. The range reflects the different blossoms available on Bruny Island itself, which is known for its relatively pristine environment and long tradition of small-scale beekeeping. The island's isolation has helped protect bee populations from some of the pests and diseases that have troubled hives elsewhere in the world. That gives the honey here a bit of a pedigree, whether you're a casual user or a dyed-in-the-wool honey devotee. Beyond the tastings, there is a surprisingly broad selection of honey-themed products. Jars in all sizes line the shelves, from small sampler jars that can be bundled into gift sets to larger tubs meant for serious honey households. You'll also find honey candies, honeycomb, skincare items, and other bee-inspired goods that lean into the idea that honey is as much a lifestyle product as it is a pantry staple. It's not cheap. That was one of my immediate impressions. This is specialty honey, priced accordingly. I'm not convinced it's the kind of thing most people would casually set out for guests during the holidays alongside crackers and cheese. Instead, I picture something quieter and more personal. Someone seated in a bay window, morning sun spilling across the floor, a warm pot of tea nearby. A spoonful of honey stirred in while scones with cream and strawberry jam sit waiting on the plate. It feels like a private indulgence rather than an everyday routine. In our case, we sampled, looked around, and ultimately didn't purchase anything. Not because the honey wasn't good, but because we're not daily honey users and couldn't quite justify the price for our habits. Still, credit where it's due. Bruny Island Honey has been operating for decades and is one of the longest-running specialty producers on the island. Their reputation is well established among visitors, and the shop itself has become one of those expected stops along the Bruny Island touring route, right alongside oysters, cheese, and scenic lookouts. If you're a true honey lover, this place will feel like a candy store built just for you. If you're more like me, someone who appreciates honey but doesn't worship at its altar, it's still worth stepping inside, tasting a few varieties, and seeing what all the buzz is about. Not every stop has to end with a purchase. Sometimes it's enough to walk in, take a taste, and leave with a little sweetness on your tongue.
Love the place. Make sure u do honey tasting and their honey ice cream is the best. They also sell fridge magnets for good price
