Private Small Group Cruise on the Huon River
Have the 38 ft beautiful historic wooden boat LaDrone all to yourself as you glide along the stunning waters of the Huon River. On a Private Charter option, you choose how long to be on the water for and which direction you cruise from our departure point, a stunning local vineyard with a private jetty. Either head South toward Port Huon and beyond or North past the gorgeous township of Franklin. Whichever way you go the scenery is unforgettable. Various catering options and drink tabs are available. However, they are all packaged to showcase some of the absolutely delicious local produce, and the best the Huon Valley has on offer. Whether it's for a surprise birthday, a work function, a proposal, anniversary or even an elopement. A private cruise on the Huon River is a unique and special way to celebrate any occasion.
Relaxing Afternoon River Cruise
After a short brief from the crew, you will depart and glide up the beautiful Huon River towards the Historic township of Franklin, sipping on local wine, beer or cider and enjoying a local Huon Valley-produced grazing board. (depending on your booking) This cruise is set to inspire you to imagine a life on the water and get a glimpse of the rich history of the area, the people and the fantastic wooden boats that inhabit the waterways of the Huon River. Cellar door wine tastings are available from Heriots Point Vineyard on weekends or via appointment through the vineyard itself. Bookings are essential on our cruises as there are limited available spaces and as we are at a private dock, we don’t accept walk-in passengers. Morning Tea on the River
For this intimate cruise, you will start at the private dock at Heriots Point Vineyard, and make your way up the river towards the Historic township of Franklin observing and discovering the absolutely gorgeous natural and man-made scenery and rich history of the area as we go. The beautiful fully enclosed cabin of LaDrone is perfect for all conditions on the river, not to mention the superb spacious and comfortable seating arrangements, perfect if it's raining. Or on a nice sunny day, you may want to soak up the sun on the safe and roomy back deck. On board, you will have a warm drink provided, along with a scone freshly baked that morning by Franks Cider House Café. As we are located at a private dock, prior booking is essential.
