Narryna was built by merchant, Captain Andrew Haig in 1835-40. Haig had previously built Salamanca Place's earliest warehouses.
Located at the gateway to Battery Point, Narryna's architecture, interiors, collection and heritage garden provide a rich experience of early colonial life in Tasmania.

One of the best house museums I've seen. Brilliant arts and crafts inspired by indigenous species, and lovely gardens tended by volunteers.

We absolutely loved touring Narryna last weekend. Claire was so welcoming and knowledgeable; she made the experience really enjoyable. The museum was presented immaculately and we learnt so much about life early colonial life in Hobart. Thoroughly recommend a visit if you are into history and beautiful buildings!
