About

Tascape Images offers personalised landscape photography workshops guided by professional Tasmanian photographer Grant Viney. Based in Launceston, the workshops take guests to carefully selected locations across northern Tasmania, including dramatic coastlines, waterfalls, forests, mountain landscapes and other inspiring natural settings.

Designed for beginner to intermediate photographers, each experience combines professional tuition with the knowledge and insight of a local guide. Participants learn practical skills including manual camera settings, exposure, composition, focusing, tripod technique and the use of polarising and neutral-density filters.

Workshops are available as private one-on-one experiences or in small groups of up to four people, allowing plenty of individual guidance. Depending on the chosen workshop, experiences may include sunrise photography, flowing water, seascapes, wildlife, native flora and astrophotography.

More than a photography lesson, a Tascape Images workshop is an opportunity to explore Tasmania's remarkable landscapes, improve creative confidence and return home with memorable images and a deeper understanding of landscape photography.

Meander Valley Falls Tour

Meander Valley Falls Tour

Imagine trekking through an ancient Tasmanian rainforest, the crisp mountain air filling your lungs as the sound of rushing water echoes through towering eucalyptus and moss-covered pines. Your boots crunch over frost-kissed leaves, and the mist rises from the Meander River, weaving between icy cascades—each one a perfect frame for your camera. But the real spectacle? Meander Falls in full winter glory. A 130-meter frozen masterpiece, where water once roared now stands still, encased in shimmering ice. This is a rare and breathtaking moment that only the most adventurous photographers get to capture. This 10km, 7-hour return hike is not for the faint-hearted. The trail challenges you with snow-covered paths and icy terrain, demanding endurance, experience, and the right gear. But for those who dare—the reward is a once-in-a-lifetime shot.
