The Three Capes Track is an independent multi-day walking experience on the Tasman Peninsula. This 48 km journey in Australia's far southeast leads you through a myriad of natural landscapes with exhilarating cliff top outlooks on Cape Pillar, Cape Hauy and stunning views to Cape Raoul.
Four days and three nights on a track so meticulously crafted you're free to enjoy your experience rather than watching every step. Your journey begins with a Pennicott Wilderness Journeys cruise departing from the World Heritage-listed Port Arthur Historic Site.
You will experience a variety of natural environments from rainforest pockets through to flowering coastal heathland and get as close as you're comfortable to with some of Australia's highest sea cliffs. Each night you can rest your head in warmth and comfort in environmentally-sensitive cabins. The cabins are equipped with mattresses, heating and cooking facilities meaning you don't have to carry tents, sleeping mats or stoves. Host Rangers will be on hand at each cabin to assist and answer any questions you might have.
The Three Capes Track will deliver you finally to the turquoise waters and white sand beach of Fortescue Bay with transport back to Port Arthur included.
An incredible 4 day hike full of jaw dropping scenery ; dramatic sea cliffs , enchanting forests . The huts are awesome , the rangers very friendly and welcoming. Everyone well thought out and well maintained.
What an incredible journey… The Three Capes Track completely exceeded our expectations… Every day was different, every view more stunning than the last, and everything just seemed to fall perfectly into place… Katie and I had such a great time… The laughter, the moments, the people we met along the way… it was all just magic… We’d honestly recommend this multi day hike to anyone looking for an unforgettable adventure… Tasmania… you delivered… 🌿
This has to be one of the most spectacular coastal walks in Australia. Four days of easy comfortable walking on well formed tracks, three nights in very high quality self catering Parks accommodation, an outstanding guide book and nightly briefings from the Parks Rangers, and a boat tour to begin and a swim and bus trip to end. The cabins are modern and well appointed, with everything you might need for cooking. Just bring your food, cup, plate and cutlery. The beds are super comfortable, just bring a sleeping bag and pillow. Walk easy with a light pack and follow the track to see the highlights of this remote and rugged coastline. Worth the money.
At the start of the hike was a boat trip that dropped you off on a beautiful beach - the best start! The hike itself had the most beautiful scenery and views, from looking out into the ocean, climbing the Blade and hiking through a rainforest. It was very clear to navigate with board walks and clearly marked paths. Getting to the huts after each day was a pleasure - they had rooms of 2 bunk beds (4 beds) and plenty of hooks inside and outside the rooms for your things. The communal spaces were very tidy and big - 2 rooms with tables, hobs, pots, pans etc. Also, there were warm showers at hut 2!!! Rangers at the huts were also super helpful. Jacinta at hut 3 was wonderful and super knowledgeable! They’d give weather updates and what to expect from the hike the following day. Super cool!
Went on this track with my family, longest walk I've ever done (4 days), but still fairly easy terrain, and amazing lookouts. The accomodations are quite good, and the staff are helpful.
