The 12.4-kilometre loop Ghost House Walk Trail will take most of the day to complete, so make sure you have plenty of water for your lunch and snacks. It takes you on a journey to discover the natural and cultural history of the wilderness areas in Yanchep National Park, an hour north of Perth. Along the way you will encounter the sights and sounds of the pristine wetlands and discover the historic remains of the 'Ghost House'.

The Ghost House Walk Trail offers plenty of interest and variety as it passes through tuart forest, banksia woodlands and coastal heath. The trail ends at Cabaret Cave and is a short walk back to the hub of Yanchep where you can stop for a coffee, refreshing drink, or lunch.

Yanchep National Park is a hub of walk trails of varying length and difficulty. For your safety please sign in and out at McNess House Visitor Centre before adventuring out on the trails.

Beautiful trail through nature and history! We completed the 12.3 km Ghost House Walk Trail in 3 hr 47 min and loved every bit of it. A few important tips for future hikers: ▪️You can buy an annual Yanchep National Parks Pass for just $30—great value if you plan to visit more again for other different walks. ▪️Before starting the Ghost House Trail, report to the information office, fill out a park safety form, and report back once finished. ▪️Enough parking available, even during the busy season. ▪️There’s a toilet and a campground about halfway near the Ghost House ruins. ▪️No drinking water available—make sure to carry plenty of water and some snacks. ▪️Trail is well-marked and suitable for moderate fitness levels. Highly recommended for a peaceful bushwalk with historical charm!
