The Morning Tour

(There is an opt-out route if participants choose not to walk to the top.) Follow your tour guide to walk past the Hyden water catchment area and fireplace, then down to the bottom of the rock to view the hidden, ancient hand stencils. Along the way, identify animal tracks left overnight, then return back along the base to the famously known, culturally significant 'Wave' in the granite, where your guide shares Dreaming stories of Katter Kich and cultural insights into the unique rock formations and flora along the way.

Witness the changing colours of Katter Kich at sunset! Be mesmerised by the changing hues of Wave Rock at sunset, while overhead flocks of pink and grey galahs roost in the tree-tops as you follow your local Aboriginal tour guide to Hippo's Yawn, exploring the unique rock formations. A moderate climb to the top of the rock is rewarded with a spectacular 360-degree view of the surrounding landscape. (There is an opt-out route if participants choose not to walk to the top.) Follow the tour guide to walk down to the bottom of the rock, viewing ancient hand stencils hidden beneath a rock overhang, past the Hyden weir and fireplace. From here we return back along the base of Wave Rock as the granite wave towers above. Along the way your guide shares Dreaming stories of Katter Kich and cultural insights into local fauna, flora and traditional bushfoods and medicine plants.
