Love Local: Taste of Irwin Tour
This tour combines a short walk (1.5-kilometre leisurely stroll) around Dongara's main town centre to see iconic sites and learn about the fascinating history of years gone by, before continuing by bus to visit some key spots around the twin towns of Dongara and Port Denison. This tour ends at Southerly's Bar and Restaurant, where you can enjoy a platter of local produce with their iconic 'Taste of Irwin' share plates. Big Tractor (and more) Day Trip
Journey through the picturesque farmlands east of Dongara as we explore the rich agricultural heritage and unique attractions of the North Midlands—highlighted by Carnamah's impressive Big Tractor! The first stop is Mingenew, one of the Midwest's key farming hubs, before heading to Three Springs' Talc Mine Lookout for stunning panoramic views. Then, we make our way to Carnamah, where history, art and agriculture come together. In Carnamah, visit the Old Exchange, explore the latest artist-in-residence exhibition at the Bank Gallery and step back in time at the Carnamah Historical Museum. A highlight of the trip is the Tractor Museum, home of the Big Tractor, an extraordinary new landmark celebrating the region's deep farming roots. Stop at Macpherson Homestead—the first of its kind in the region. Gallipoli Trench Project Tour
Visit this authentic replica of Leane's Trench, a captured Turkish trench taken by the 11th Battalion in Gallipoli in 1915. Before entering the trench, you will be shown footage detailing the significance of the trench in WWI. You will then be guided through the 120-metre-long trench to participate in a reenactment of what it was like to be at war during this time. Complete with sound systems, actors and all the paraphernalia of war makes this experience as real as possible, giving you a glimpse of life on the frontline. Following the trench experience, you will enjoy a barbeque dinner hosted by the men and women of the 11th Battalion and the Leane's Trench project to learn more about this significant piece of history and those behind the project.
