About

Enjoy an intimate, unique, informative cellar door experience at one of the smallest and 100% family owned wineries in the Barossa.

Host Joseph Evans invites you to join him for a personal, guided wine session available everyday between 11 am and 4 pm. Joseph is the owner, winemaker, viticulturist who carefully tends his grapes from vine to bottle.

The vineyard is rain-fed, the winery is solar-powered, and the delivery van is a 100% electric Nissan Leaf that is charged by solar during the day and plugged into the winery to provide power at night. The first winery to use this technology in Australia.

Ballycroft 's wine is made as a reflection of their dry-grown vineyard, the terroir and the individual vintage.

In true Ballycroft style, they will be constructing the first Earthship Tasting Room in the Barossa Valley in November 2026. A one-of-a-kind tasting room blending Earthship principles with local materials and ingenuity. Hybrid design featuring Earthship elements: earth cooling tubes for passive ventilation sunroom for winter warmth and year-round indoor food growing using greywater and straw bale walls providing natural insulation.

Self-sufficient — powered by the sun, harvesting its own rainwater. A low impact, climate-positive space that will complement the Ballycroft story: small scale, hands-on, and deeply committed to the land.
