The Levee is a space defined by variety. Running parallel to the Hunter River and encircled by Ken Tubman Drive, The Levee is a hive of activity, offering a range of entertainment and dining options, a blend of small business and national retail stores with business services such as banks, solicitors and accountants.
The Levee is the perfect backdrop to the city, linking the city to the river, making for an ideal stroll that captures the historic architecture dotted along the city’s High Street before looping back along the river bank.
The Levee also plays host to a number of family friendly events, activities and programs throughout the year. Check out what’s on by heading to the website.
I love the Levee, it's great to walk along the shop front street which is a shared traffic and pedestrian area. A good variety of shops that include op shops, cafe's, restaurants that include Japanese food, burgers and a little hole in the wall pattiser, where the owner makes all her own pastries, such as danish, croissants and pies. Worth a visit.
Thank you for having us at the river lights one off our fav events
Ever-improving spaces for residents and visitors to walk, play and explore. Vibrant street art and views of the river. Great spaces for events and markets. An asset to Maitland.
Variety of shops around a pedestrian friendly access area. The shops back onto the Hunter River and there are several lovely cafes with outdoor eating areas to enjoy the view.
Nicely renovated street. All kinds of fashion boutiques, coffee shops and book stores. A lovely place to hang out. There are a lot of benches, tables and shades. And there is a smooth entrance to the river side.
