About

The Banksia Tree Cafe and Restaurant is a 70-seat wood-fired brunch destination in Port Adelaide, built around one idea: good food shouldn't cost the Earth. Everything is cooked over locally-sourced red gum coals, alongside native-ingredient dishes drawing on foraged herbs and bush produce. 95% of the menu is sourced from South Australian producers — pasture-raised meats, Yorke Peninsula grains, regional dairy, and small-batch coffee roasted locally. Menus change with the seasons to keep pace with what's genuinely available.

Sustainability runs through the whole operation: food and coffee waste is composted through the Semaphore Compost Network, packaging is fully degradable, and 100% of sparkling water profits go to Australian farmers via Rural Aid.

Dine in, alfresco, or book the space for a private function — the cafe caters events of all sizes. Wheelchair accessible, pet-friendly outdoor seating, and full allergy/intolerance accommodation. Open 8am–3pm, seven days.
