Unique Opal Mine invites visitors to experience a simulated underground opal mine in Adelaide's CBD. The attraction recreates the feel of the Australian outback, with carved tunnel walls and seams of real opal set into the mine.
Visitors can explore the only attraction of its kind in the CBD and learn more about opal mining, cutting and jewellery making. Skilled opal jewellers regularly cut opal on site, offering a close-up look at this detailed process.
The attraction also features a mini museum with opalised fossils, including an ancient opalised plesiosaur. It is one of only eight known examples in the world.
