About

Port Noarlunga brings together a proper seaside village, a long sandy beach and one of South Australia's best-known snorkelling and diving spots, just 34 kilometres south of Adelaide.

The town's long jetty leads towards Port Noarlunga Reef, a limestone reef system protected since 1971 and now part of the Encounter Marine Park. Around 400 metres offshore, the reef is home to abundant fish and marine life, with access from the jetty making it particularly popular for snorkelling and scuba diving. An underwater trail adds another way to explore below the surface.

Back on land, Port Noarlunga's village centre has cafés, restaurants, independent shops and galleries within an easy walk of the foreshore. The beach is popular for swimming, kayaking and fishing, while just south of town the Onkaparinga River estuary opens onto the coast, with wetlands, walking trails, kayaking and birdwatching nearby.

With McLaren Vale wine country only a short drive inland, Port Noarlunga makes an easy beach stop, day trip or base for exploring the northern Fleurieu Peninsula.
