Genista Wines

Genista Wines is a small-batch wine label in Cockatoo Valley, in the southern Barossa Valley. Sarah and Lloyd left Melbourne to follow a dream of growing grapes and making wine. They live on their Shiraz vineyard, planted in the 1990s, and look after the neighbouring block of Grenache vines planted in the 1940s.

All the fruit is picked by hand. Lloyd makes the wines at a local Tanunda winery. The range includes six wines, from rosé to dry reds and sparkling, all made from fruit they grow.

Wine tastings are held on the verandah, looking out over the vineyard. Sarah and Lloyd host every tasting themselves and share the story behind each wine.
