Tucked away on Queensland's Discovery Coast in Agnes Water and the Town of 1770, Dive Spear and Sport takes guests beyond the usual Great Barrier Reef experience to some of the Southern Great Barrier Reef's most remote, pristine and uncrowded reefs.
Dive Spear and Sport is a small, locally based dive and snorkel operator that believes the best reef experiences are personal. Their trips are intentionally kept small, giving guests more time in the water, more space to explore and plenty of time with their passionate guides.
From vibrant coral gardens and curious turtles to schools of tropical fish and the occasional unexpected encounter, no two days on the reef are quite the same. Their experienced crew share the stories, wildlife and science that make this part of the Great Barrier Reef so special.
Reef conservation and education are part of everything Dive Spear and Sport does. Through citizen science, reef monitoring and marine conservation programs, the team actively contributes to protecting the places they take guests to explore.
Their custom-built vessel provides the freedom to explore a network of Southern Great Barrier Reef sites, away from the crowds and beyond the well-trodden tourist path.
Come for the reef. Stay for the adventure. Leave with a little more love for the ocean.

Set out from Agnes Water and 1770 and venture into the lesser-visited corners of the Southern Great Barrier Reef. Places where the reef feels wild, remote and wonderfully untouched. With a maximum of 10 snorkellers per group, you'll be fully guided by an experienced reef guide from start to finish. Then, the adventure begins. Rather than following a set path, you'll enter the water on the outer edge of the reef and drift with the current, carried along walls, drop-offs, ledges, caves and towering ancient coral bommies. It's a completely different way to experience the reef. There are no two snorkels quite the same. Tides, conditions and marine life shape every adventure. One day you might drift along a spectacular reef edge; the next, a turtle could cruise alongside, a reef shark might appear in the distance, an octopus could be tucked into a crevice or a manta ray might glide through the blue. This is snorkelling for those who are adventurous and want to go beyond the ordinary to discover what lies beneath the surface.

Explore the Southern Great Barrier Reef on a full-day double dive adventure from Agnes Water and the Town of 1770. Designed for certified divers, the Reef Double Dive takes guests beyond the crowds to explore two different dive sites across the remote and uncrowded reefs of the Capricorn Bunker Group. With access to more than 100 dive sites across ten reefs, every trip offers something different. Dive alongside vibrant coral gardens and an incredible variety of marine life, with the possibility of encountering turtles, reef sharks, rays, tropical fish and, if you're lucky, whales or manta rays. Small group sizes and low diver-to-guide ratios mean guests receive personalised attention while still having the freedom to explore. Each trip is guided by experienced local dive professionals who know the reef, its wildlife and the stories that make this part of the Great Barrier Reef so special. Between dives, guests can relax onboard, enjoy a locally made lunch, snacks and drinks, and take the opportunity to snorkel during the surface interval. This is a full day exploring one of Australia's wildest and most remarkable reef environments.
