Talbingo is situated on the shores of Jounama Pondage amidst stunning mountain scenery. Talbingo offers a range of outdoor pursuits from water skiing and fishing to bush walking and is also in easy reach of the snow fields in the winter months.

Talbingo and its surrounding waterways offer fishermen superb deep freshwater fishing and for a different challenge, numerous crystal-clear mountain streams. It is also home to the "Jounama Classic" fishing competition, an annual opportunity to boat-fish on Jounama Pondage.
