Black Star Pastry – Newtown

Home of “the world’s most Instagrammed cake”, this small cafe in the backstreets of Newtown often has a line out the door.

Many of them are here for that famous cake – the Strawberry Watermelon Cake, with two layers of almond dacquoise, rose-scented cream, watermelon, strawberries, pistachios and dried rose petals.

There are plenty of other cakes, pastries and savoury delights on the menu, as well as great coffee.
