About

Vinoversity's private masterclass is the Granite Belt tasting experience, shaped entirely around your group. Choose your focus, wine, spirits, or both, and enjoy the same expert-led session held just for you: a celebration, a corporate day, a milestone, or simply a group of friends who want the room to themselves.

Everything flexes. Pick your date and time, the venue (the tasting lab among the vines, or your own place), the number of guests, and the depth, from a broad regional tasting to a deep dive on a single style or spirit. Winemaker and distiller Andrew Scott hosts throughout, and for wine he teaches the Vinometer, one clear way to read any glass you meet. The setting and the group change; the expertise and the good humour do not.

Serious wine and spirits edutainment, tailored to your table. Mastery, not mystery, made private. Enquire to shape a session around your group.

Vinoversity Granite Belt Wine Masterclass

Vinoversity Granite Belt Wine Masterclass

Vinoversity's Granite Belt Wine Masterclass is a two-hour guided wine experience led by Granite Belt winemaker Andrew Scott, set among the cool-climate vineyards of Ballandean. It goes deeper than the cellar-door circuit: real wine education with a genuinely good time built in, for anyone who wants to understand what is in the glass, not just drink it. You begin with a stroll through the vines, a glass of something sparkling in hand, then move inside for a guided tasting of seven wines from right around the region, including the Strange Bird varieties this high, cool country does best, among them Tempranillo, Albarino and Saperavi. Rather than a head full of facts to memorise, you learn the Vinometer: one clear, repeatable way to read any wine you meet and talk about it with confidence. Curated nibbles are served alongside, and you go home with your own Riedel glass and a tasting journal to keep. Ballandean sits at the heart of the Granite Belt, Queensland's highest and coolest wine region, a place quietly rewriting what Australian wine can be. Intimate class sizes keep it personal. Serious wine education, and a serious amount of fun. Mastery, not mystery.
