Slide down the largest moving coastal sand mass in the Southern Hemisphere, as many times as you like.
Climb aboard a purpose built 4WD at the car park in Anna Bay and ride into the Worimi Conservation Lands, where white dunes climb up to 30 metres high with slopes up to 60 degrees. Sandboards, instruction and supervision are all provided, so beginners are welcome. Then it is up to you. Slide down, climb back up and go again for as long as you like.
Hop on and hop off between 9:30am and 3:30pm daily, with extended hours during school holidays. The last shuttle returns to the car park at 4:30pm.
A complimentary bottle of water is included and all ages are welcome. Bring a hat, sunscreen and sunglasses, and leave your shoes behind, because sandboarding is better barefoot.

Explore the Worimi Conservation Lands on a two hour guided tour in a purpose built 4WD. Cross 2,500 hectares of sand dunes to reach Tin City, a cluster of corrugated iron fishing shacks standing right in the middle of the dunes. Your guide shares the history of the dunes and the plants and animals that live in this unique landscape. Then it is your turn to get active. Grab a board and feel the wind in your hair and the adrenalin in your chest as you slide down dunes 30 to 40 metres high. It is a great way to see the dunes from the inside, with a bit of history, a lot of sand and plenty of laughs. This tour is not recommended for children under two. Departure times depend on the tide and sea conditions, so times and dates can vary.

Feel the ocean, the sand and the dunes on one tour. Climb aboard a 4WD bus and drive onto Birubi Beach, following the shoreline a few kilometres to a stretch of sand. Step out and take your time. Feel the cool ocean water, the firm wet sand underfoot and the salty air on your face, with plenty of time for photos along the water's edge. Your guide gives a short commentary on the beach and shows you the pipi wiggle, a simple twist of your feet that helps you dig these little shellfish out of the wet sand. Hold one in your hands, snap a photo, then release it back into the water. When you are ready, head up to the sand hill for unlimited sandboarding on the largest moving coastal sand mass in the Southern Hemisphere, in the Worimi Conservation Lands. Slide down white dunes up to 30 metres high and stay as long as you like. All ages are welcome. On the 3pm tour, sandboarding is limited to about 1 hour.

Two of Port Stephens' biggest drawcards in one day, on the water and on the sand. Start with a dolphin watching cruise across the calm blue waters of Port Stephens, with expert commentary and plenty of room to watch. You are likely to see the region's resident bottlenose dolphins in their natural habitat, and in the warmer months you can hop into the boom net for a closer splash. Then swap the water for the dunes. Ride a 4WD into the Worimi Conservation Lands, where our guides teach you safe sandboarding techniques and you slide down slopes that shift and change with the wind. Expect multiple runs, plenty of laughs and views where the dunes meet the sea. Do both experiences on the same day or spread them over two days. All ages are welcome, making it a great fit for families, couples and solo travellers after a relaxed but active day out.

Two of Port Stephens' great adventures in one package, on the water and on the sand. Head out from Nelson Bay on a 2.5 hour whale watching cruise with Moonshadow-TQC Cruises. Travel along the Port Stephens coastline with expert commentary and spacious viewing areas, and keep watch for migrating humpback whales as they breach, tail slap and glide through the water. Dolphins and other marine life may join the show during the season. If no whales are sighted, stand by vouchers may be issued at the crew's discretion, conditions apply. Then swap the sea for the sand. Ride a 4WD across the shifting dunes of the Worimi Conservation Lands, learn safe sandboarding techniques from friendly guides and enjoy multiple runs down the slopes, with views where the dunes meet the sea. You can do both experiences on the same day or spread them over two days. All ages are welcome, making it a great fit for couples, families and visitors who want to make the most of their time in Port Stephens.
