About

The Ngaro Track on Whitsunday Island offers a fully supported, three-day walking experience through the heart of the Great Barrier Reef World Heritage Area. Spanning 32 kilometres, the track connects iconic locations including Whitehaven Beach and Hill Inlet, while traversing diverse coastal and inland landscapes known for their outstanding natural beauty.

Named after the Ngaro people, the Traditional Custodians of the land, the track has been developed with their guidance, incorporating cultural storytelling through interpretive elements and artwork along the route. Walkers gain a deeper understanding of Country while experiencing its rich heritage.

Designed for comfort, this guided walk allows travellers to carry lighter packs (8–12kg), with camps, meals and logistics fully managed. Architecturally designed campsites feature raised tent platforms, shelters and scenic amenities.

Blending cultural insight with spectacular scenery—from silica sands and mangroves to rainforest ridges—the Ngaro Track is an ideal choice for those seeking an immersive, active adventure with added comfort in one of Queensland's most iconic island environments.
