About
Make your own 500ml bottle of gin during an intimate evening with our head distiller, Luke Ridden. Join us for the ultimate 4-hour experience that will guide you as you get to choose your own botanicals & learn to distil using one of our custom-made 2L copper stills.
This distillery experience will introduce you to the gin-making process and teach you how to create your own bespoke 500ml bottle of craft spirit, which you can take home to share (and brag) amongst friends and family. Since launching as the very first of its kind in the country, our Make Your Own Gin Night has been recognised as one of Queensland's best experiences.
We'll delve into the history of gin and the story behind the great Granddad Jack as we take you on a tour of the distillery and provide tastings of our award-winning spirits & liqueurs during the evening.

Gold Coast Distillery Tour & Tasting
Sip, sample and hear the story behind the Gold Coast's first gin, whiskey & vodka craft distillery. This guided distillery tour will introduce you to the gin-making process and the Gold Coast’s thriving craft spirit culture. Enjoy a gin and tonic on arrival and tastings of our award-winning spirits and liqueurs as you are guided through the distillery and introduced to the history of Granddad Jack, the processes involved in making our beloved spirits and given a behind-the-scenes tour of our family-owned distillery. Things you should know before booking: - This is a private experience; we're not open to the public or spectators. - Please arrive 10 minutes before the start of the distillery tour to make sure we can start on time, and you don't miss out on anything. - All participants must be 18 years or older. We advocate a responsible drinking policy and believe in enjoying alcohol responsibly. - You must organise your own transport. Due to the nature of the event, all participants are responsible for organising their own transportation to and from the experience, as alcohol will be consumed during the experience.
Brisbane Distillery Tour & Tasting
Sip, sample and hear the story behind Brisbane's newest gin, vodka & liqueur craft distillery. This guided distillery tour will introduce you to the spirit-making process and Brisbane's thriving craft spirit culture. Enjoy a gin and tonic on arrival and tastings of our award-winning spirits and liqueurs as you are guided through the distillery and introduced to the history of Granddad Jack, the processes involved in making our beloved spirits and given a behind-the-scenes tour of our family-owned distillery. David & Luke Ridden are handcrafting spirits and sharing the story in memory of their Granddad Jack. Each award-winning spirit is made from locally or nationally sourced raw materials and is still hand-waxed! Production is on full show to visitors from the Tasting Room, and when inside, you can smell the aromas of the botanicals and whiskey as it seeps through the oak barrels surrounding you. We're a family-friendly neighbourhood distillery in the backstreets of the industrial Albion community. Just a few minutes walk from other local breweries, cafes and restaurants, you can quickly see why we've been landmarked as a 'must-see' destination with QLD Tourism. Come and see for yourself.
Cocktail Masterclass
Join our experienced mixologists for the ultimate cocktail masterclass and an evening of making and enjoying craft cocktails at Brisbane's newest neighbourhood distillery. This guided experience will introduce you to the art of making delicious craft cocktails and take your home bartending to the next level. On the night, you'll be one of only eight people who will enjoy making (and drinking) four delicious Granddad Jack's cocktails and learning the basics of mixology, including how to make popular syrups, the best cocktail flavour pairings and understanding the barware and glassware to pair with your favourite tipple. Enjoy an endless grazing table while you’re guided through the distillery and introduced to the history of Granddad Jack, the processes involved in making our beloved spirits and given a behind-the-scenes tour of our family-owned distillery.
