The Jack Murat Coffee Farm Tour is a guided walk through a working Australian coffee farm in Far North Queensland.
The tour begins in the coffee fields, where we explain how the local environment, seasons, and farming practices shape the way coffee grows and ultimately tastes. We talk through the coffee plant itself, varietal selection, and the day-to-day agronomy decisions made across the farm.
From the fields, the tour moves into processing. Depending on the season, you may see live processing and fermentation taking place. At other times, we explain how processing works and how different methods influence flavour, using real examples from the farm.
The farm also operates as a roastery, and roasting forms part of the tour. We explain how roasting decisions connect back to the coffee grown and processed on site.
The tour concludes with a tasting of coffees produced on the farm, served as espresso or filter. Freshly roasted coffee is available to purchase directly from the farm.
No prior coffee knowledge is required, just an interest in how things are grown and made.
