Enjoy an intimate encounter with majestic Humpback Whales from the comfort of the 8.5-metre Cougar Cat 'Bay Warrior' without getting wet.
The 'Bay Warrior' was purposely built for comfort and stability. It has a large cabin for those who feel cold or want to keep their camera gear dry while still observing the whales. The stable back deck is sheltered from the sun and the rain. There is a toilet on board for your convenience.
Small group sizes of only 10 passengers per trip allow the friendly and professional team at Blue Bay Whale Watching to give you the personalised service you'd expect from the whale watching operator of your choice.

Blue Bay Whale Watching depart daily from Brunswick Heads Boat Harbour in the heart of the Cape Byron Marine Park. A free shuttle service is provided from Byron Bay. Departure times 10am on weekdays and 9am and 12:30pm on weekends and Public Holidays. Each trip takes approximately 2.5 hours.

Best whale watching experience! I’m from Brisbane QLD and took time to drive 2hours to Brunswick NSW just for this experience. Christina organised the booking and is very responsive. You have to call or leave your contact in the website to secure your spot. The crew are fantastic. They won’t stop searching for the playful Humpbacks. They have a spotter inland at the lookout that tells the captain where to interact the active whales. This is an advantage so you fully maximise time with the whales. The boat is large enough to move around. Other tours just use rubber boats or sitting only boats which is smaller. This one is using 8.5 metre Cougar Catamaran and is spacious. Probably size of a mini bus. You are free to roam around. Front to back. 10 people per boat plus crew gives you a very exclusive feel compared to big boats where 100 people on - is really chaos. Definitely recommending as this will definitely meet your bucket list! Kudos to Christina and the Blue Bay Whale Watching Team for the unforgettable experience.

Had the most amazing day with blue bay whale watching. I drove down from the gold coast to get a more personal experience than on offer from the bigger boats. Exceeded my expectations, great crew and plenty of whales. No negatives at all

Awesome experience with these people. They are so thorough in gauging the suitability of conditions for going out to sea & will take you miles if necessary to encounter whales. Pricewise reasonable too. As for the encounters with whales & dolphins themselves, beyond indescribable! 🐳🐬❤

We had a fantastic time whale watching. The skipper and crew were fabulous, very calm, entertaining and really relaxed with our kids. We were up close when a mother and calf came by. The skipper was obviously very experienced with the bar and always had the boat in the best position. Highly recommend.

I've been out with Blue Bay Whale Watching several times over a couple of years and will go again! Great boat, awesome people and very easy and stress free location for departure. The whales have always been phenomenal viewing and the boat staff have great knowledge and skill in finding them for us. Highly recommended!
