Lord Howe Island - 7 Day Group-Guided

Swaying palm trees, breathtaking coastal scenery, a crystal-clear lagoon and the southernmost coral reef in the world, all bless this World Heritage Site. The island’s isolation in the Pacific Ocean makes it home to 64 species of unique rainforest plants, teeming seabird colonies and one of the rarest birds in the world. Yet it remains only a couple of hours' flight from either Sydney or Brisbane. Travel on this island is done primarily by foot on an excellent network of walking trails that crisscross the island’s volcanic landscape. The spectacular Lidgbird and Gower Mountains project above the surface of the ocean and lead to stunning views from every vantage point. To maintain such an unspoilt paradise, the number of tourists to the island is restricted. Care and consideration from all visitors are vital to the preservation of this unique environment. You will stay and dine at the amazing Arajilla Retreat ensuring that you’ll be wowed on and off the track.

My first trek was on the Larapinta in Northern Territory with Australian Walking Holidays in July/August 2025. Although I had done a lot of bush walking in different locations, trekking was a very new experience. I absolutely loved the trek, the location, the food and the most amazing guides I could have wished for. So if you want an experience of a lifetime, find a tour with Australian Walking Holiday’s, where the variety of quality fresh food, amazing locations with breathtaking views and genuine care for your enjoyment by the crew, you won’t be disappointed.
