About

Take a night-time walk through the rainforest – without a torch. When you go on a Night Vision Walk with Vision Walks Eco-Tours you'll wear night-vision goggles, giving you an amazing opportunity to see animals going about their nocturnal business, without them knowing you're there.

You'll be asked to wear dark clothing so you can stay under the radar, and on a typical night you'll see the likes of possums, pademelons, leaf-tailed geckos and tawny frogmouths. To wrap things up, you'll get to enjoy a hot chocolate under the stars.

The operator also runs daytime wildlife tours and walks, including a Wildlife Safari, Bush Tucker Walk, Platypus Walk, Bird Watching Tour and Koala Tour, as well as multi-day wildlife experiences. Vision Walks' hinterland tours explore the villages, waterfalls, markets and other highlights of the Northern Rivers region.

Their patented Night Vision Walk is the only one of its kind in the world! Imagine exploring the Australian rainforest at night, searching for nocturnal wildlife. Instead of wielding a torch you’re incognito, wearing special night vision goggles. This is military grade technology that lets you see animals as they go about their business. Because they don’t use bright lights they are less intrusive and that means they can be more connected to what is going on all around. Recently competed the Gidjuum Gulganyi 4 day walk with Vision Walks and it was a 10/10 experience! Hike was amazing but even better were the logistics - food was delicious, beds were super comfy and cosy, there was a shower every night... could not have been better. And the grazing platter that greets you every afternoon when you roll into camp! Best dolmades I've ever tasted! Our lead guide, Eugene, was knowledgeable and a lot of fun. We even had a botanist with us, Dana, who taught us heaps about all the plant life along the way. Could not fault anything about this tour or the company. I've done overnight hikes before but not having to carry your full kit, and having access to all that is provided makes this well worth the expense. And a big shout out to 'the elves', who do a great job doing all the hard work in the background so you can concentrate on just walking and enjoying yourself. If you're not sure about being able to do the walk itself - neither was I. But the pace was good throughout and Eugene was always clear that we were about the journey, not just the destination, so we never felt rushed. Day 2 is the hardest but... you get through it! Then an easy day three is your reward 😆 Do the walk, and do it with this company - it's so good.
