Stand between the towering Crystal Guardians - the tallest smoky quartz geodes ever found at 5.5 metres tall. Sit inside the Dragon Egg, a 120-million-year-old amethyst crystal cave. Marvel at the 20 tonne Enchanted Cave, filled with millions of sparkling amethyst crystals, and explore 5 hectares of subtropical botanical gardens, including a regenerated rainforest with 10,000native trees.

They'll pick you up from your chosen location from our list of options and take you Mullumbimby, where guests have an hour to explore 'The biggest little town in Australia', we then pick you back up at 10:45 and arrive at Crystal Castle at 11:00 where you have 3 hours to enjoy the Castle. The shuttle bus picks guests up at 2:00pm for their return home.

Beyond Byron Hinterland Tour

Explore the Australian rainforest at night using night vision technology for an insider’s look at the animals that live there. Their patented Night Vision Walk is the only one of its kind in the world! Imagine exploring the Australian rainforest at night, searching for nocturnal wildlife. Instead of wielding a torch you’re incognito, wearing special night vision goggles. This is military grade technology that lets you see animals as they go about their business. Because they don’t use bright lights they are less intrusive and that means they can be more connected to what is going on all around. For many of their clients, seeing the forest in the dark is an enlightening experience. After your walk enjoy a hot chocolate gazing up at the starry night. Heaven!

Minyon Falls Rainforest Walks

Minyon Falls and the untouched Minyon Valley make you feel like you have gone back in time to when dinosaurs roamed the earth. The valley with its ancient rainforest vegetation has a 'Jurassic Park' feel. Minyon Falls are awesome as they rise over 100 metres out of the rainforest. Join a two hour (four kilometre) or a four hour (eight kilometre) walk through the rainforest valley to experience the amazing Minyon Falls in the spectacular (World Heritage listed) Nightcap National Park. See magnificent strangler figs, Bangalow palms and helmholtzia lily. You will walk to the plunge pool of Minyon Falls where you will enjoy your lunch (included), and have a swim (weather permitting). Moderate to hard walk includes some hills and clambering over rocks. Bring your own water.

Bird Watching Tour

Wildlife Safari

Come with them to see Australian wildlife in the wild – not a zoo or sanctuary. Their Wildlife Safari takes you to three different habitats near Byron Bay. You’ll visit eucalyptus forest, rainforest and grassland to discover the animals that live there. They guarantee you’ll see a koala or two, a mob of kangaroo, a whole colony of flying fox and many species of bird. If conditions are right you may also see pademelon, echidna, tawny frogmouth and water dragons. You will travel in their comfortable eight-seater 4WD with an environmental scientist as your guide. For lunch? A picnic of locally-sourced goodness. On this tour they travel to where the animals live so it involves a bit of driving. They start with a 45-minute drive to their first stop and end the day with a one-hour drive back to Byron Bay. In between there are short drives and walks.

Join Vision Walks on a three hour easy Byron Bay Tour, see the Cape Byron Lighthouse, look for dolphins and whales (June to October), turtles and rays. Platypus Walk

On this tour you go for a walk along a creek where the playful platypus live. Platypus can been seen at anytime of the day, but your best chance is just after dawn. They pick you up from your Byron Bay accommodation, drive to the special Platypus area, and start the 1.5 hour (easy) walk. On the walk along the platypus creek looking for platypus, you usually see one/two platypus, plus loads of birds and sometimes even koala. After the walk you will have a nice picnic breakfast then return to Byron Bay. They can't guarantee platypus sightings on this tour, but if you don't see one, you are welcome to come on the tour on another day for free.

Vision Walks, with 17 years of award-winning experience, has partnered with Byron Bus Company to provide daily transfers from: the South; Byron Bay, Lennox Head, Ballina, Lismore, & Mullumbimby. From the North: Gold Coast Airport, Salt (Kingscliff) and Mullumbimby. Transfers from Uki and Murwillumbah are available upon request. Travel comfortably in air-conditioned vehicles, including a 12-seater Toyota Commuter or 7-seater Nissan Serena hybrid. Bookings are essential to ensure a smooth journey into nature. Let us handle the logistics, so you can focus on the adventure. For your return journey, you can choose your pickup from Minyon Falls or Minyon Grass. Minyon Falls will take you to the official trail finish. But we think the Minyon Loop is a spectacular finish to your epic walk. It is an extra 6km and finishes at Minyon Grass.
