Woebegone Dive offers unforgettable ocean experiences in the heart of Jervis Bay Marine Park, led by South Coast locals Lara and Dylan—professional instructors with over 15 years' experience and a strong focus on safety, sustainability, and connection to place.

Woebegone Dive invites visitors to explore the ocean three ways: snorkel, freedive, and scuba.

Guests can join guided snorkelling/ freediving tours from the beach or boat, discovering seals, sea caves, and vibrant reefs. For certified divers, they offer double-boat scuba diving tours showcasing Jervis Bay's iconic marine life, dramatic underwater landscapes, and crystal-clear waters. Scuba and freedive courses suitable for beginners through to advanced divers.

From June to October, guests can also take part in their renowned Bucket List Whale Swim experience, offering the rare opportunity to enter the water with migrating humpback whales under strict ethical guidelines.

Beyond the water, Woebegone Dive is proud to be a purpose-driven business. They run community beach clean-ups, support marine conservation initiatives, avoid single-use plastics on tours, and actively work to leave the marine park better than it was found.

Visitors can also stop by their dive shop, stocking high-quality dive gear, reef-safe products, ocean-inspired gifts, and locally made items. Woebegone Expeditions and Courses

Shore Snorkelling Tour – two hours Dynamic warm-up and breathing workshop. Basic skin diving lesson and guided tour of their favourite secret spots suitable for individual skill levels and weather conditions on the day. Boat Exploration Tour – five hours Remote, wild and untouched. Swim with the seals (from May to October) and visit some of the sea caves set in the spectacular cliffs. You can visit some of the steep ocean drop offs and secret grey nurse shark aggregation sites. Double Boat Scuba Dive Explore the best of Jervis Bay with a two-tank adventure for certified divers. Discover reefs, sea caves, sponge gardens and iconic marine life like the Weedy Sea Dragon, Grey Nurse Shark and Fur Seal. Guided by locals who know the bay best. SDI Open Water Certification Start your underwater journey with the globally recognised SDI Open Water Diver certification. This entry-level course teaches you the essential skills, safety procedures, and confidence to explore the ocean independently. Freediver Course An introduction to the physiology of breath-hold diving. Learn the breathing, relaxation, visualisation and stretching techniques. Learn safety procedures, how to rescue an unconscious diver and how to safely freedive with a buddy in open water.

Went out with Dylan and Jo on the Above & Below boat tour and it was amazing! They were so knowledgeable about the local area and very passionate about conservation. We went to two dive locations and even though it was a bit cold and windy for a summer day, the visibility was great and saw lots of wildlife, including a turtle near Bowen Island. Also really loved the morning tea - the vegan friendly banana bread was amazing (thanks so much Lara!). One other thing that I really enjoyed was that the boat wasn’t too overpacked with divers, there was enough space for everyone which was really nice and even crates under the seats to store your gear. I’ve been out on other boat trips overseas where the boats have been super packed and it definitely impacts the experience. There is clearly so much care taken when designing these trips, already planning to come back for a dive in Whale season and the free dive course. Thank you all so much!
