This fountain was unveiled in 1932 to commemorate the friendship between French and Australian soldiers formed during the First World War. It was the bequest of J F Archibald, the editor and owner of The Bulletin magazine. It was designed by French sculptor Francois-Leon Sicard. It features figures and animals from classical literature and art. It is a popular meeting spot withing Hyde Park.
