    Park closed for aerial shooting for feral animal control

    The following sections of park will be closed to the public from 2pm Sunday 1st November until 10am Saturday 7th November 2026 for an aerial pest control operation:

    • Badja Swamps Nature Reserve
    • Berlang State Conservation Area
    • Deua National Park (West of Merricumbene Fire Trail) including:
      • Berlang campground
    • South East Forest National Park (Nunnock Swamp section) including:
      • Alexanders Hut campground
      • Nunnock campground
      • Postmans campground
    • Wadbilliga National Park – West of Wadbilliga

    Campgrounds in Wadbilliga National Park as well as Bendethera campground in Deua NP are not impacted by this operation and will remain open.

    This program will involve aerial shooting during daylight hours. Feral species targeted under this program include deer, goats, pigs, foxes and other pests. It aims to reduce the significant impact they have on native plants and animals including threatened species.

    Closure signs will be established at all visitor access points to the shooting area. Visitors should not enter the shooting area during the closure period.

If you're an active and adventurous camper, this small, quiet campground is an ideal base to explore Wadbilliga's rugged wilderness. With only 6 campsites, you'll almost feel like you've got the place to yourself.

After you've pitched your tent among the towering ribbon gums, stretch your legs on Cascades walking track or

Tuross Falls walking track, and then cool off with a dip in Tuross River. Bring your kayak or canoe if you want

to paddle upstream and see if you can hook a catch to barbecue back at camp for dinner.

Spring and Autumn are beautiful times of the year to camp, when visitation is low and the weather is beautiful. But be prepared nights can be chilly so pack a jumper. You'll be sharing the space with resident wildlife, and if you're lucky (and patient) you might even spot a platypus in the river.
