Group accommodation is available in Glenella, a former historic guesthouse now offering unique facilities and accommodation exclusively for groups in the heart of Blackheath.
Ideally suited for groups gathering for events such as weddings, family and friend reunions, and club excursions, the location is also suitable to hold workshops, retreats, and small company team-building excursions.
Glenella is an easy stroll to cafes, shops, restaurants, galleries and the Blackheath station. It is also walking distance to the rhododendron gardens, monthly growers market and the Blue Mountains National Park.
The grand building offers 15 rooms and up to 30 guests, accommodated across two levels. Modern ensuite bathrooms are available, plus other rooms which share a well-equipped large bathroom downstairs.
Glenella boasts a large chef's kitchen (formerly a two-hatted restaurant) to prepare gourmet meals. Alternatively, outside caterers are also available.
Other features include WiFi throughout the guesthouse, a Bluetooth music system and a screen which can be used for presentations and entertainment.
There are several comfortable communal lounge spaces to relax, plus a covered verandah that extends into the front garden. The dining area with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooks the pretty rear garden. Adjacent to the dining area is a large deck for outside use, weather permitting.
Glenella provides a relaxed environment for groups to enjoy a unique Blue Mountains experience.
We couldn’t have been happier with Glenella Heritage House for our wedding! Many of our guests stayed at the property, and everything was absolutely perfect. The house itself is beautiful, full of charm, and provided such a welcoming and comfortable environment for everyone. We held our wedding reception there, and it was simply amazing. The space is elegant, well-maintained, and created the perfect backdrop for our celebration. The team at Glenella Heritage House were professional, accommodating, and went above and beyond to make sure our day ran smoothly. From the stunning grounds to the warm hospitality, every detail contributed to making our wedding feel special and unforgettable. Our guests couldn’t stop raving about how beautiful and comfortable everything was, and we felt completely supported throughout the entire experience. If you’re looking for a venue that combines charm, elegance, and exceptional hospitality, Glenella Heritage House is the one. We cannot recommend it highly enough! ✨
We booked Glenella for our extended family to stay during our wedding weekend. We were very fortunate that Glenella could accommodate so many guests (30 guests)! Margaret our host stepped by to say hi! The hosts are super sweet, accomodating and the loveliest people. The accomodation is very grand yet homey - plenty of amenities like the industrial size kitchen, ensuites, bathrooms and lounge areas that could accommodate either the whole group or smaller break out groups. We had no issues getting catering delivered to the venue for lunch and walk over to a nearby pub for dinner. We highly recommend the location as it really made planning and logistics easier. Thanks again for hosting us! Terence & Tiffany
Wow, what a beautiful place to stay! My partner, brother and I stayed for the UTA weekend. We were warmly welcomed by Margaret and shared lovely chats with her and fellow guests. Everything is well thought out with fantastic amenities and selection of armchairs with little nooks and crannies to relax with a book or share a meal. Highly recommended. We would love to stay again!
Glenella is an absolute gem of a place, the owners are fantastic and the property is exactly as described, if not better. Amenities are amazing, love the heated rooms, relaxing areas, kitchen is very well equipped... the list goes on and on. We would definitely stay again.
This little gem in the heart of the Blue Mountains is not one to be missed. The hosts at Glenella have retained all of its old world charm by decorating it throughout with antiques, period furniture and memorabilia. As you enter the spacious front parlour you are welcomed by the genteel English hostess who seems to blend perfectly into place. She is a font of knowledge about Blackheath and surrounds and will gladly provide you with suggestions of things to do while you are staying there. After a quick tour of the guesthouse you will be introduced to your room and any other amenities you may require to enjoy your stay. The bed was comfortable and we slept well in spite of the creaking floorboards. The bathroom was suitably old fashioned, but clean and, although the plumbing took a little while to get into action, the water was hot and plentiful. You are encouraged to use the kitchen facilities to prepare your own meals or choose from a number of excellent cafes and restaurants which are a short walk from guesthouse. Altogether a delightful stay that made us feel like we had briefly gone back in time.
