The Cottage is situated on a rural property, which is halfway between Mt Wilson and Mt Irvine. It is one of Mt Wilson's few remaining working properties. It has a number of fruiting chestnut and walnut trees as well as raspberry and blueberry bushes. It boasts 40 acres of combined rainforest, garden and pasture and is home to a small number of Devon cattle. There are several hiking tracks close by with spectacular views over the Wollangambe River.
