Yarrangobilly Village campground

Husband and I camped for 2 nights. Very quiet and tranquil (most of the time with the odd car/truck passing through along the Highway) Beautiful flowing river. Drop box toilets didn’t smell. Firepits available with bbq/hanging stands for cooking well kept. Picnic tables No Optus or Telstra service were available

Stopped by today to pre-scout the campgrounds for a future stay; looking forward to coming back. This campground is pretty basic. Some fire pits, picnic tables and long drop toilets. There is a river which runs through the side of the campground however which was refreshing (kids did a quick sample swim). We found this one via YouTube posting by a traveling family. There is also a couple of historic artifacts such as a tractor as well. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a nice camp ground with easy access and nice grass areas, but it is simple. I can see young kids getting bored easily. That said, would happily call here.

We camped on the opposite side of the highway to the main section of the campground.... No tables, no firepits, no toilets, no people. It was a great spot right next to the creek. July, it was very cold overnight but the spectacular sunrise was worth it.

A nice nice place for camping along the Yarrangobilly River; the only thing I found not too appealing is the fact that it is next to the road. There weren’t much cars passing by when we where there but I think I prefer a quieter place. There is an old portable steam engine and an old cottage that you can enter to explore and discover how things were back in the days.
