Step back in time at Amberesque, a bank on the main street of Rutherglen that has been elegantly restored into a luxury Bed and Breakfast.
Guests staying at Amberesque will enjoy their VIP breakfast in the 14 foot ceiling bank chambers. Guests can also curl up by the log fire during cooler months and indulge in a glass of fortified wine from the Amberesque barrel.
As you make your way up the impressive staircase you will find two spacious guest rooms, both fitted with plush king sized beds, swag and tail curtains and a large en-suite bathroom complete with spa.
Each room has been tastefully decorated with period style furnishings, yet has all the modern comforts such as air conditioning, complementary Wi-Fi internet, television, DVD, sound system, ironing facilities, and all the amenities to leave you feeling refreshed and pampered.

We had a wonderful stay at Amberesque. The breakfast was absolutely outstanding – delicious, beautifully prepared and incredibly generous. We also really enjoyed the cheese platter with wine, which was the perfect way to relax after a day exploring the region. The host Amber was super friendly and welcoming, with some excellent local recommendations that really added to our stay. Amberesque itself is gorgeous, set in a beautiful old bank building full of character and charm. The location is fantastic too – just a couple of doors down from two excellent dining options, Grace and the Victoria Hotel. A fabulous place to stay in Rutherglen. Wonderful hospitality, great food and a beautiful setting. We’d happily stay again

We recently stayed at Amberesque for 4 days on our 2 week winter road trip driving from Newcastle, NSW, to Adelaide, SA. Amber & Shannon, owners of Amberesque, are most welcoming hosts. Their grace set the scene for our beautiful stay. Amber was so helpful with Rutherglen information to help plan our days & nights. She curated our stay with excellent suggestions to suit our interests. The B&B, housed in a historic bank building, has been incredibly well preserved & is appointed beautifully. Our room was luxuriously furnished & extremely comfortable. We slept like babies. Our ensuite was large with luxury amenities provided. Amberesque has a number of floors with many cozy areas to relax in. Even when other guests were staying, the layout made it easy to find our own privacy. We loved relaxing in the enclosed balcony upstairs lounge, watching movies in the downstairs projector film room, and sitting by the wood fireplace in the lounge. A unique highlight is the guests' pantry housed inside the historic old bank vault. The garden is lovely. The breakfasts Amber presented each morning were extraordinarily good. We highly recommend Amberesque for a unique, luxurious, and truly beautiful stay.

We had an incredible stay at Amberesque. The generosity and hospitality from Amber and Shannon made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Nothing was too much trouble and we really enjoyed the tour of the building and gardens. The location is perfect – right in the centre of Rutherglen, an easy walk to great restaurants and the pub, and a great base for exploring the wineries and everything the region has to offer. The building itself is beautiful, full of old heritage character, with comfortable rooms and thoughtful touches everywhere you look. The food was another highlight. Breakfast was exceptional, with incredible flavours that rival some of the best restaurants we’ve eaten at and only available for Ambers guests! Amberesque is far more than just accommodation – it’s an experience. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a luxury retreat in Rutherglen with samples of the best of the region.

What an amazing place! Gorgeous old building beautifully renovated. Luxurious room and bathroom. Delicious breakfast. Friendly helpful host. Very generous inclusions, from a welcome cheese platter to muscat next to the fire for a nightcap, while exploring the old LPs. We had a lovely few days here and will eagerly return!
